After competing in the WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, Dan began his career as a game developer, working as an artist at Codemasters in Birmingham.
Dan from The Wirral competed in WorldSkills UK and won gold in 3D game design, and competed in Abu Dhabi 2017 internationally at WorldSkills. Dan excelled in ICT at school but was not good at art, however that all fell into place later on in his career. Dan loved problem solving but did not excel in academic subjects.
Dan knew he wanted to be a game developer but his mother was sceptical of the idea although still pushed him. After going to sign up at college for ICT, Dan realised he could do an animation and games course, however knew this industry was very competitive.
Being pushed to go to university, Dan knew this was not the right choice for him and stayed at college. He wanted to see which pathway would give him the biggest opportunity to learn. Going to WorldSkills UK made him realise what he wanted to do, as all the information he needed to know helped him decide.
